WELCOME TO KAM

We welcome Kam Gareja to the team – our newly appointed Research Associate. His role will focus on managing the case record review and he’ll be the main point of contact for reviewers.

Kam has been working at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust as a Data Manager on clinical trials and will continue in this role for one day a week.

The aim of the case record review is to determine whether or not there were errors in care during the first seven days following emergency admission. Twenty hospitals are each providing 200 digitised case records.

“I really love this role as it’s data related and that’s my background,” he explained, “I see the case record review – and HiSLAC as a whole – as very important work for the health service; it’s good to be part of something this important”.

The case record review will involve 80 reviewers and start in January 2018.

Kam can be contacted on 0121 371 6814 or k.gareja@bham.ac.uk.
